Blue Ridge Mountain Throwdown

No 2015 Event.

Welcome to The Blue Ridge Mountain Throwdown … a 2-day adventure race-fest… showcasing the  rugged Cooper’s Farm, the spectacular New River valley, Mount Jefferson State Natural Area, downtown West Jefferson and the breath-taking North Carolina High Country in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

If you compete on foot, wheels or with a paddle, and crave a challenge then bring your moxie to the Throwdown.  The 4 events incorporate single-sport and multi-sport, solo and team, and off-road and on-road races.

You’ll  enjoy the pleasant temperatures (mid-50′s to mid-70′s) of June in the High Country, as you’re challenged with 4 unique races: 6.6 mile ascent/descent of Mount Jefferson, the rugged Cooper’s Farm 5-mile, the unique High Country Triathlon (run-kayak-bike) and top it off with a downhill 1-mile on the main street of West Jefferson (can you say PR!).  You’ll gain a perspective of the High Country that only you and your fellow athletes can appreciate.  After the racing is finished, your family and friends can enjoy a float trip and camping on the New River, one of only 14 American Heritage Rivers in the United States, a leisurely stroll and great some great food as you tour the quaint downtown of West Jefferson, or you can choose to take it ALL in.
